Journal of Studies on Art, Culture and Society (JACS) is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal that provides a scholarly platform for critical, analytical, and creative research on the relationships between art, culture, and contemporary society. The journal seeks to advance understanding of artistic practices, cultural processes, social transformation, identity, representation, and the changing role of creativity in contemporary life.

JACS encourages interdisciplinary studies that connect the arts and humanities with cultural studies, sociology, media studies, heritage studies, creative industries, and related fields. Particular attention is given to research examining how artistic and cultural practices interact with social change, technology, identity, communities, institutions, and global transformations.

Focus and Scope

JACS publishes original and interdisciplinary scholarship that examines art, cultural practices, identities, representation, creativity, and social transformation. The journal particularly welcomes studies within the following four major areas:

1. Art and Creative Practices
Visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, theatre, dance, film, photography, design, digital arts, media arts, artistic production, creative practices, aesthetics, art criticism, artistic interpretation, and contemporary forms of creative expression.
2. Culture, Heritage and Identity
Cultural heritage, tangible and intangible heritage, cultural identity, local and indigenous knowledge, memory, tradition, folklore, popular culture, cultural preservation, cultural transformation, hybrid cultures, transnational cultures, and the relationships between culture, place, community, and identity.
3. Society, Representation and Social Change
Social transformation, representation, identity, community, power relations, agency, resistance, gender, social class, ethnicity, religion, ideology, cultural politics, globalization, postcolonial and decolonial perspectives, migration, social inclusion, and cultural responses to contemporary social change.
4. Digital Culture and Contemporary Creative Society
Digital culture, new media, social media, artificial intelligence and creativity, digital arts, virtual cultural spaces, digital heritage, creative industries, platform culture, technology-mediated cultural practices, digital identity, and the social and cultural implications of emerging technologies.
Interdisciplinary Studies: JACS welcomes interdisciplinary research from the humanities, social sciences, cultural studies, media studies, design, education, anthropology, sociology, history, and related disciplines when the study demonstrates a clear contribution to understanding art, culture, creativity, heritage, representation, or contemporary society. Studies concerning environmental issues, sustainability, climate change, tourism, technology, education, or other related subjects may be considered when they are clearly examined through an artistic, cultural, heritage, or societal perspective.
